Abstract

Concepts of quality of work life and job satisfaction are a very important concept in the workplace. These can be used together to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the work environment, especially in hospitality industry. The objective of this paper is study of the relationship between the quality of work life as an independent variable and job attitudes (satisfaction) of the employees in star hotels as the dependent variable. In this context, the quality of work life factors were considered in the model Walton and Research hypotheses were expressed in relation to the criterion variable. This Research was accomplished based on the nature, descriptive method, and survey technique was used in data collection field. The population includes all employees working in three star hotels in Tamilnadu, India and the sample of 124 was drawn through simple random sampling technique. The data collected was using Quality of Work Life questionnaire and job satisfaction questionnaire developed and validated by B. Lenin Selvanayagam and M. Thiagarajan (2017). In analyzing the data, inferential statistics (Pearson correlation and linear regressions) was used. With hypothesis of the study, the results showed that there is a significant correlation between the quality of work life and job satisfaction and Components of quality of working life can be a predictor of job satisfaction among employees in star hotels
